THE BEGINNING

FROM KAMPALA

Wamala Sipirian was born in Katwe, Kampala, Uganda, on July 7.

He spent part of his childhood growing up with his grandmother in Bulyantete, Lugazi, before eventually returning to Kampala.

Those early years became part of the foundation of his perspective: an upbringing shaped by family, education, changing environments and an emerging interest in the wider world.

Sipirian later attended St. Mary’s College, where his education continued to develop his interest in technology and communication.

TECHNOLOGY & EDUCATION

THE FOUNDATION IN BUSINESS COMPUTING

Sipirian pursued a Bachelor of Business Computing at Makerere University Business School (MUBS), graduating in 2022.

His education gave him a foundation in computing, business, information systems and technology while exposing him to the rapidly changing digital environment.

For Sipirian, technology was never only about software and systems. It also became a way of creating, publishing, communicating and reaching people.

His experience with websites, WordPress, digital content and online publishing eventually became an important part of his professional identity.

Sipirian founded Entertainment Page One as an independent digital entertainment publication focused on Uganda and East Africa.

Through Entertainment Page One, Sipirian gained practical experience in the realities of digital publishing—from creating and managing a website to producing stories, developing content and understanding online audiences.
